The case was brought by a group of Indian consumers who argued that Google had violated their privacy by collecting data about their online activities without their knowledge or consent. The court agreed with the consumers, finding that Google had not obtained the necessary consent to collect the data.

As a result of the court order, Google is now required to pay each affected user ₹630 (around US$7). The company has said that it will appeal the decision, but it is unclear whether the appeal will be successful.

In the meantime, users who believe they are entitled to compensation can file a claim with Google. To do so, they will need to provide their name, email address, and the date they first started using Google. Google has said that it will begin processing claims on a rolling basis.

This is a significant victory for Indian consumers, and it could have implications for Google’s business in other countries. The case highlights the importance of user privacy, and it sends a message to tech companies that they need to be more transparent about how they collect and use data.
